MICHELIN restaurants in the area of Moraira
According to Spanish tradition, the new Michelin guide is presented in Spain in November. As we already suspected, quite a few star restaurants have been added to the guide, making the area around Moraira a true culinary paradise!
In San Sebastian you will still find the most star restaurants and that will probably remain the case for years to come. However, Calpe is certainly a place that is not out of place in the gastronomic field. Calpe currently has no fewer than 3 star restaurants. In 2017, restaurant Audreys received its star, but in the following years this number has only increased. Restaurant Beat is a restaurant that has (also) retained its Michelin star for a number of years. Restaurant Orobianco has lost its previously obtained star due to a change in the kitchen brigade, but in 2023 it was regained. As a result, Calpe has risen sharply on the gastronomic list. We can say that Calpe has achieved a well-deserved number 1 position for the Costa Blanca.
In 2021, the chef of Orobianco opened his own restaurant in Benissa; Restaurante Bernardi. At Casa Bernardi, the chef’s Italian roots predominate. In the meantime, Michelin inspectors have also visited. In 2023, this restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star.
Calpe
As expected, Calpe is now the culinary capital of the Costa Blanca and that is a few kilometers from Moraira. In any case, Moraira is quite centrally located in relation to the restaurants mentioned in the new Michelin guide.
