Already since 2018, the Costa Blanca has had the most Blue Flag beaches in all of Spain. In 2026, the Costa Blanca has 75 beaches with such a flag. This puts the Costa Blanca once again at number 1 in Spain. Through this website you can see annually where the blue flag beaches are located in Spain.
What does a blue flag mean?
The Blue Flag is an international environmental mark that is awarded annually to beaches and marinas that meet its criteria. Blue Flag beaches must meet the following requirements, among others;
- Bathing water must be of excellent quality
- The beach must be clean
- There are sufficient toilets and waste bins on the beach
- There should be a rescue or first aid post.
- Information is provided on how to protect the sea, beach and dunes.

In the immediate vicinity of Moraira are even more blue flag beaches to be found. In Benissa, for example, there are two bays with a blue flag, namely; Cala L´ Advocat and Cala Baladar. In Javea, L´Arenal, La Granadella and La Grava have blue flags. And in Calpe, Arenal Bol, Puerto Blanco, Playa la Fosso and Cala El Racó enjoy this status.
