Once you’ve experienced Moraira in September or October, it’s easy to understand why so many visitors return at this time of year. The busiest summer holiday weeks may be over, but the wonderful Mediterranean atmosphere is still very much alive.
During September, daytime temperatures often reach a pleasant 26–29°C, making it ideal for relaxing beside your private swimming pool or spending a few hours at the beach. The Mediterranean Sea has been warming up all summer, so swimming is particularly enjoyable.
But the real charm of an Indian summer in Moraira goes beyond the weather.
Imagine starting your morning with breakfast on your villa’s terrace, followed by a leisurely stroll through Moraira’s charming town centre. Perhaps a long lunch overlooking the sea, an afternoon at El Portet beach or simply a peaceful day with a good book beside your pool.

September is perfect if you love sunshine, warm sea temperatures and those wonderfully long evenings outdoors. The summer crowds have eased, but the beaches, restaurants and terraces are still full of life. For many visitors, September offers the perfect combination of summer weather and a more peaceful holiday atmosphere
October 2027 | Relax and Enjoy
October brings slightly cooler temperatures, often around 22–25°C during the day, making it an excellent month for walking, golf and exploring the Costa Blanca. There’s still plenty of opportunity to enjoy lunch in the sunshine or relax on your villa’s terrace. If swimming is an important part of your holiday, a villa with a heatable private pool is worth considering. Both months can occasionally bring rain, particularly during autumn, so the weather is never guaranteed. However, September and October can offer a wonderful balance of sunshine, relaxation and outdoor activities.

Both months are ideal for enjoying the Mediterranean outdoor lifestyle. However, autumn weather can be more changeable, and occasional heavy rain is possible, particularly in October.
Can you still swim in the sea or a private pool in September and October?
Absolutely! The Mediterranean Sea has been warming up throughout the summer, and sea temperatures in September are often around 25°C. Swimming can still be enjoyable in October, although the water gradually cools. If you plan to spend plenty of time in your villa’s private swimming pool, particularly in October, we recommend considering a property with a heatable pool. Pool heating availability and additional charges vary between villas.
Is Moraira still lively in September and October?
Yes. Unlike some Spanish holiday resorts, Moraira remains an attractive destination throughout the year. Many restaurants, cafés, shops and terraces stay open during September and October. The town centre and marina retain their welcoming atmosphere, but without the busiest crowds of July and August. Some seasonal beach bars and businesses may operate reduced hours later in autumn.
