San Sebástian has been the undisputed gastronomic capital of Spain for years with 3 restaurants that have 3 stars, the highest number of stars that can be achieved. Restaurant Audrey’s *
This restaurant, led by chef Rafa Soler, is housed in the AR Diamante hotel. The chef grew up in the immediate vicinity and incorporates these Mediterranean and Spanish influences into his dishes. He combines the best quality of regional products with surprising preparation methods for a high-quality taste experience. Here you can enjoy various menus so that you are always surprised. Restaurant Beat *
Started in 2016 and the bar was immediately set high. A young and enthusiastic team takes care of the total picture. In addition to a la carte, chef José Manuel Miguel also has 3 delicious menus. (see blog Michelin restaurants)
Restaurant Orobianco *
Since 2024, restaurant Orobianco has had its Michelin star back. At this fantastic location with a beautiful view of Calpe and the Mediterranean Sea, the most delicious Italian cuisine is served.
Restaurant Abiss
This restaurant opened in 2007 and is located directly on the beach of Calpe and therefore has a fantastic view of the Ifach. Here they serve, among other things, a delicious Menú Degustación by chef Carlos Savall.
El Bodegón
It is a bit of an outsider compared to the other three, but here too, gastronomic cooking is done. The restaurant was founded in 1976 and has been running for more than 30 years! The decor is very Spanish or rather simple. This restaurant will probably never get a star, but The Michelin Plate is certainly deserved.
Another star restaurant in Calpe?
In November of this year (2024) it will be time again in Spain and the new stars will be announced. The tension is palpable at the time of writing among the restaurants in Calpe. Will Calpe be allowed to add a fourth 1 star Michelin restaurant after November? If so, Calpe will truly become the gastronomic capital of the Costa Blanca.
